According to statistics, many people go to hotels to sleep or stay there, but they leave with a few more items in their suitcase. Well yes, for some mysterious reason, even the most honest people often suffer from Arsenio Lupin syndrome when they stay in hotels.

But, do these people take with them as a “souvenir” from hotels?

Here’s the list of the 10 most stolen items in hotels!

10. Towels and Sheets

It’s a theft par excellence and is easy to understand why. They are soft, fragrant, clean, and even well folded. Towels and sheets seem to be very popular with hotel kleptomaniac guests. Some even take pillows, pillowcases, and blankets with them!

9. Batteries and Bulbs

Seriously?! It seems so… Many visitors take batteries of the remote controls and the bulbs of the lampshades as a “souvenir”. Not sure why, but they do that.

8. Books

Many hotels have a small library to delight their customers. Just like the real ones, they lend books to spend some time immersed in reading without having to carry additional weight in their luggage. Too bad that many volumes are “sold out”.

7. Electric Kettle

Often present in the kitchens of many hotels around the globe, electric kettles are surprisingly also often stolen. Who knows how many of those people have at home came from hotels?

6. Food and Drinks from the Minibar

What a joy – a mini bar in the room! Small happiness that lasts until the guest(s) realize that its contents are not included in the accommodation price. That’s too bad… well, not for someone, since they decide to be happy and take some of them with them.

Yes, some people also take the curtains with them. Well, they may match the interior of their home!

Frames?! Is that for real?! Well, it seems that some people appreciate framed images and photos to the extent they’d like to have them at home!

3. Cutlery

When on holiday, we always need a knife to peel an apple, cut a sandwich, open a particularly well-sealed package. But, some people seem to need a new addition to their cutlery at home, so they create a real service by making forks, spoons, steak knives, and spoons disappear.
